Title: Pilotless drone taxis
Post by: Varche on 16 February 2017, 23:04:05
Saw an interesting item on these. I am pretty open towards new concepts after all driverless cars are already around.

The idea is you get in on your own with a small piece of luggage and choose a destination on a touch screen and press ok. And off you go. No manual controls at all. Range currently 31 miles.

So far so good. Then the item says Abu Dhabi is looking at introducing them in July 2017.

I bet Kevin Wood will be first in line to use one! ( or perhaps just behind me very last in line) ;D

Ermm, actually...  :-[

The drone can carry one passenger weighing up to 100 kg (220 pounds)...

That rules me out if I'm wearing clothes and a parachute (and I'm not leaving either behind!).
