It's true aparantly. I've just heard on Border News that in a poll about Scotland becoming independent of the UK, 70% of English people wished them luck. ;D
-
So the other 30% don't like the Welsh? ;)
and 100% don't like the French?
And so on and so forth . . . .
America still has plenty of problems with racism, but I never heard so much winging about other people as I do in the UK. ::)

Be careful what you say - I think us ENGLISH are outnumbered by the SCOTS (and ex-scots) on here.... ;D
-
ONLY 70%. I'm shocked :o
-
One of my son's best m8's is Scottish and a lot of my m8's Scottish and all the guys on here and i agree with theo on the french :)

70% of English dont like the Scots
Speaking as a Scot who thinks himself British firstly and Scottish secondly, i dont blame them.
Oh and i probably dont like 70% of Scots - frankly i hate the country - but following on from a discussion on a thread yesterday about the state of our nation ( thats u.k) im unsure if my dislike is towards Scotland or towards Great Britain currently.
As i often say to my wife Scotland is the ar&&hole of the world >:(
Oh and if Scotland becomes independant - im outta here and over that border - trust me and my economics degree, it wont work!
-
If the poll is correct,it does'nt bode well for Gordon Brown at the next general election!
I would interpret the poll as the English being indifferent to, rather than disliking the Scottish nation.

Where is Scotland :-X
-
oh and invariably the things i dislike - the youth culture, the neds ( chavs) the narrow mindedness and deep rooted non changing oldies and the religious nonsense is rife everywhere in UK....and no offence is meant to any of my esteemed Scottish colleagues on here ;) ;D
-
Get real people! The only reason that the english SAY they dislike the scots is because of some irrelevant historical issues. If schools didn't insist on ramming Bannockburn and the like down childrens necks, and every other question on a quiz show wasn't about Robert The Bruce, then I dont think we'd even consider the question at all.
PS: DO you like my stars, Jock? ;D
-
This was Border News - 70% was probably from a poll of 10 people in a pie shop ;D don't read too much into it.
On the plus side they do provide free University places, so I've considered moving 10 miles north in years to come - any cheap castles going near you Markiec?
And for the record I agree with the previous comments on the French >:(

Ain't that the truth...........

I agree with Markiec in terms of the economic issues, and that is why it is highly unlikely that Scotland will probably never become independent. Thats why it did not happen in the past couple of decades when it was wanted then. Scotland does bring in revenue for the British Government, oil, whisky, salmon, tourism. thats why scotland has never been given independence, because Scotland would want to take all the tax from those industries and others that contribute to the British economy. Don't get me wrong I left Dundee when I was 18 and have lived and worked in London almost..err well just over half my life, but also went back to scotland and worked, been paid off, back to London, back to scotland worked paid off, back to London still here since 93.
Been to France aswell, bloody dont like them, and Wales and thats another story, England fine, I have some good mates here in london, english, irish, aussies etc, etec...Oh and some guy called Bob.dent from Hoddesdon...hes a kule dude :y........only because he sleeps in the fridge though ;D ;D
ANYWAY I COULD GO ON BUT WON'T, HOWEVER, THE POLL CARRIED OUT WAS ON THE BORDERS BUT WHAT BORDER/ WALES/ DOVER, AND WERE THEY ENGLISH AND NOT HUNGARIAN OR EUROPEANS, AND WHAT % AND HOW MANY DID THEY POLL. IT IS CLEARLY INACCURATE, AS MOST POLLS ARE/SURVEYS ARE, TRUST ME I KNOW THIS :y........ :o 8-)

Really don't want that too happen, as if it did, the English would'nt have any armed forces left, as there mostly made up of Scotsmen :P

As someone who is officially not English but British (a hidden immigrant of the huge group never mentioned) I don't care much for all the petty squabbling between the different parts of our country. In international sports I wish any British drivers luck.
TBH I don't know what I am - parents are Cornish, grand parents, 2 Cornish, 1 Devon, 1 Midlands. I suppose I could claim Cornish, British or Maltese.
This is where I was born

the narrow mindedness and deep rooted non changing oldies and the religious nonsense is rife
Quite agree Jock! That and the chip on the shoulder that seems to come from Scottish nationalism!!
BTW, if Scotland did become independant, we'd have a convoy(ette) of Omegas travelling south across the border!!
Fancy Italy myself!
