Almost 2 years ago we bought an LG dishwasher - it came with a 2 year warranty. It went wrong a few days ago & an engineer was dispatched.
Within less time than it took for me to make him a cuppa he declared it a write-off, with the fault being caused by a defective seam weld from when it was made. He did the paperwork and advised that I would be contacted by LG direct about "what next".
I get the call and am advised that I'll be getting a full refund as the retailer we bought it from no longer sells LG products.
So happy days, we won't be getting a replacement LG machine though - it's too high tech and only does a really good wash on the power setting, I'd hate to think what some of the parts would cost after the warranty period. In the meantime, I've had almost 2 years use for zero outlay!

Our Bosch dishwashers have both lasted over 10 years. Current one doesn't have long left as it's constantly begging for salt... will be replaced in due course with another Bosch one. ;)
-
And we had Bisho before the LG, and have bought a Bosch machine this time.
Are you on the forum all the time Mr Precious?

Better service than I had with my mobile then... Initially they sent me someone else's handset back for a start!

Ive gone for a different approach this time around. Normally buy mid range dishwashers, but seeing as the last one started playing up shortly after the 1 yr warranty expired......I went cheap as chips approach...
Currys Essentials dishwasher £160 + 5 yr warranty for £85 and managed to get £14 off.....
I did look at the reviews for it first tho.....mainly good with a few bad from muppets that carnt use a dishwasher....
The only bad review I would agree with the top basket does seem a bit flimsy when you pull it out.....
Since owning it I have tried it on Intensive, Normal and ECO....and even the ECO setting does a good job of cleaning....altho the cycle takes over 3 hrs! Not tried the other programs...
Altho I do only use Finish all in one tabs or Persil tabs....cheap supermarket tabs don't clean properly...
I also add salt as I live in a fairly hard water area...
Don't bother with rinse aid....
So for £230 Ive a guaranteed dishwasher for 5 years....just be my luck that it wont break in 5 years and I could have saved £80 odd quid ::) ;D

I too use Finish/Fairy or other premium brand tablets. The cheap stuff is false economy, as so much has to go through twice.
I only use 2 cycles on my 2yr old Hotpoint, Normal (2:15 if using all in one tabs) or Intensive (2:35 if using all in one). Even if using all in 1 tabs, I still use salt and rinse aid.

Is this not a subject more suited to a bunch of old women? :)

Why don,t you lazy buggers just get in the kitchen with a lovely bowl of suds and just do it properly. :D :D

Depends on whether of not you wash car parts in said machine :)

Because a dishwasher is more effective.

I bought myself a new Bosch for Christmas. Premium tabs, no salt, no rinse aid, all good.
-
I'm still using the Bosch dish washer I bought it 1997, never use salt or rinse aid due to good old Scottish water :y :y
Tried Fairy tablets :-\ :-\ but get better results with Finish tablets :y :y

So...Scottish water and Finnish tablets. Isn't that a bit of a palaver? :-\

Add in Russian vodka and it all blends together very well :y :y :y

Yep, such products were invented by marketing retards, not people who know how the machine actually works. ::)
