Title: 2.2 cdx saloon boot will not open

Tried opening boot today with the remote, made noise but did not release, also tried pushing
button inside car and the same thing happened.
I did undo the boot in the end by pulling the handle in side the boot.
Any ideas .

Not with the remote  ::)

Sounds like lazy/failed mechanism, easy enough to source one from a breaker here  :y

In that case check the bootlid wiring... do all the bootlid mounted lights work?

Also worth reading the manual... if you're trying with the ignition on, it won't open remotely  ;)

Wont even open if the key is in the ignition switch on some models iirc.

Hi. You said it makes a noise when you press the keyfob.i assume the same noise if you use the dashboard button as well. Is the noise the sound it would normally make.the sound of the release motor working? If so then remove boot trim cover which you would need to anyway if you were replacing mechanism and look to see if anything has come detached .there is a plastic arm that pulls

Get an assistant to push down on the boot while you press the button. Then diagnose from there... or keep the assistant in the boot for future use :y
