...I wonder how many people had their Omegas on the date the forum was born (8th July 2006), and still use now as a daily driver.
I'll kick off with my beloved, superior MFL MV6, aka The Silver Bullet.
-
My first Omega dates from around 2009 ish.
A white 3.2 'plod' estate that went like shit off a shovel. Sounded great. :y
-
My one & only one purchased December 2010 2.6 CDX a great car never missed a beat, sold it to andrew-V8 on here in November 2015.
-
My first one was in 1993 - no mistake, an L reg pre-release 2.5v6 CD saloon.
Worked for GM at the time and had it as a company car for a few months.
-
First Omega was around July 2006, I think I finally registered on the Forum in September of that Year.
Would still have that car now if it hadn't been written off, I still have it's replacement on the drive which gets little use at the moment, although it is road legal and will be having a few upgrades this year.
I have no excuse for the other two...!
-
My first one was a silver 1997 tourer that I bought in early 2001. It caught fire in mid 2003 and was replaced with the 97 elite I still own, although she is currently sat on my drive waiting for the weather to improve before I weld the sills.
-
Registered 2010. Purchased the motor late 2009. The forum helped get me in to cars so thanksTB and all OOFers (that coupled with being ripped off by Vauxhall dealership in Northampton) :y
-
October 2007 I got the MV6 - sold it and boughtit again a couple of years ago :y
-
My first was a company 2 litre CDX in about 1994 after a run of Carlton's. I then have gone through another 4 V6's since then to my current one.
If I can afford to do what I plan it is my "last" car as I will keep it running like the 1936 Austin I past just the other day on the A20! It will be a classic car one day, fingers crossed. :y :y
-
I bought my Omega in July 2006 and it's still in use. :y
-
Cant remember exactly when I bought my first one. I believe it was 2007. I registered on the forum (the first time) shortly after, as it quickly became apparent that the car was riddled with problems.
With the help of the vast amount of info and knowledge on the forum I worked my way through all the problems and fixed every one of them. I then treated it to a grey leather interior - and sold it. ;D
Including breakers, I have had another eight of them since then. My current Rubens red 3.2 elite will definitely be the last though.
Theres nowhere to go, in an upward direction, in Omega world after this one.
As a test of my memory ::), I think the list reads as follows -
Green p/fl 2.5 v6 - daily driver.
Silver f/l 2,5 v6 lpg - daily driver.
Black 3.2 elite - broken for parts
Blue f/l 2.5 v6 elite - broken for parts
Silver f/l 3.0 elite - broken for parts
Silver 2.6 CDX estate - bought as a project, fixed up and sold.
Silver 3.2 elite - broken for parts
Rubens red 3.2 elite - used more as a weekend car than daily driver.

That`s rather a lot ;D

I still have my beloved '99 TD Estate, bought at 6 months old in late '99. Still going very well, but only 133k, so many miles to go. :y
-
Still got my 3.2, my second Omega, which I purchased when it was a few months old in 2003 and it's still used daily. :y

I bought it around 2001. If OOF had existed then I could have saved myself a lot of work......
I traded it in after 7 years when I got my 2003 2.6 Elite saloon.
A couple of weeks after I traded it in the dealer sent me a photo - apparently he saved the wheels....

Photos like that sadden me. I know it's only metal but...

But nowhere near as many as you. :P ;D

I had my first Omega, a 2.5 GL in Champagne Gold, in August 1904, before the forum; it was a successor to a 2.0 Carlton Estate in Midnight Blue, but was a money pit!
The Omega also developed nasty haits, including an inability to retain its bodily fluids, so it gave way to my present Omega in April 2008, now a 2.6 CDXin stunning Star Silver!
It goes without sayi g that without the wonderful help from so many kind people on this forum it would have gone to that motorway in the sky.

Bought my 2003 3.2 Elite Estate in April 2007, still my daily driver, just got through another MOT (with a bit of work) but trying any failing at some point to find a replacement, there's just nothing to compare..
-
Yep, my first 3.0 Manual MV6 Estate, full retail spec, Sports Leather, Cruise etc, bought back in 2006, got the the car before I joined OOF, payed quiet a lot of money for it being a 6 year old car at the time, was parked up for a while, then flew through the MOT early this year, now has a V8 lump installed and a proud new OOF Owner. ;)
-
Tell us more. :)
-
My Dad had my CD from march 2001 if that counts ?
-
Good job nobody noticed my slight error in an earlier post - "I had my first Omega, a 2.5 GL in Champagne Gold, in August 1904"! I must have had a pre-production model?
Or did I really mean 2004? :-[

My first was a 1995 2.0 GLS Estate that I bought in 1998.
Replaced it in 2004 with my current and only car, a 2002 2.6 CD Saloon, used daily.

This is interesting given the problems that Gixer had trying to sort the steering with his conversion. How was it done? :y
-
In 2006 I was running the first of the Senator B's I've had along with the XJ6.First Omega-a 1995 3L Elite-was bought in 2008 and sold in 2009 to make way for second Senator B which got written off 3yrs later to be replaced with my present year 2000 F/L 3L Elite as I couldn't find another Senator within budget.
