Title: Idler arm parts

I'm doing the preparations for chaning the idler arm, and wanted to check two items, from the picture in link:

- item 13 - cap, no.90305712
- item 18 - washer, no.90538145

Are these just plain washers? What dimensiosn?

Thing is, my steering arm has been changed and reworked for several times over the years, and I'm not sure if I have all the parts on it at the moment. And I want to make a correct assemby this time.

Here is an interesting photo - just to show the difference between OEM and pattern:
- upper one is a replacement (FEBI)
- lower one is original GM

Also, cap (item 13 in OP) is shown.

Looks like a idler arm for a Omega A / Senator B.

OK, I think I've got it.
Item 13 is shown on previous photo, and item 18 is a plain washer, and it seems that I have all that parts.

Now - which method of ball joint breaking (idler to central rod joint) has proven to be better:

a) bar between chassis and central tie rod (pushing tod downwards), and hitting the idler arm (which is still mounted to the chassis) UP near the ball joint (aka Ronald McBurger method)

What are the torque setting when doing the nut up?, in the process of replacing mine!!

Top looks like Omega-B, bottom for Omega-A I reckon :)

must admit ive never seen arm arm like the bottom one. as far as i remember all the arms from 78 carltons etc up to omegas (albeit different lengths)all have the long central bush with the rubber insert and sleeve. ?

Is it not the pitman arm on the otherside, thats different to the idler arm I think
