Title: Drivers seat belt issue(s) annoying

I have 2 issues with my drivers seatbelt, firstly it was not retracting very well at all, I have cured this by washing the seatbelt in hot water with laundry detergent and now works like new. Second issue which is still ongoing, a "squeek" from the height adjustment part of the belt which occurs with the slightest movement whilst driving, I have removed the belt from the height adjuster and cleaned what I could see but nothing appeared faulty, after fitting back together the squeek is still there, I did not however remove the height adjuster itself from the pillar, As this is at ear level it is a right PITA, anyone else had this ? Use a silicon/PTFE spray on the height adjuster slider.  Not a normal issue, but plastic harden with age, and an Omega is at least 14 years old now.  ;)

Just noted you have a Vectra - how old?

Sorry, havent updated that in a while. Its a 2007 signum elite 2.2 direct.
