Title: run in with bmw
Post by: raywilb on 21 March 2017, 20:23:54
on yorks outer ringroad like most cities theres quite a few roundabouts & today I was going round one a bmw pulled out in front of me making me brake & as we both straightened up he for some reason kept leaving massive gaps  then spurting forward & as I got up to him he slowed right down  . after about 5mls he turned off & it happened to be the same way that I go. off he went. as I caught him up he then started the game of stop start . now I wasn't tailgating him so what is problem was I don't know. it was not a modern beemer but money had been spent on it . when he first pulled out I never reacted in any way to upset him

He was an idiot with nothing better to do. One day, he will pick on the wrong car. Don't take it personally.

Had a similar encounter with a Passat estate... first met him at a set of dual carriageway traffic lights. Lights went red so he swerved from being third in lane 1 to being second in lane 2. As soon as the lights changed he practically pushed the car in front out of the way before undertaking it, and cutting up the front car of lane 1.

I eventually ended up behind him with a mahoosive gap, which I duly filled. He then proceeded to do the faster slower thing until I pulled off.

As Steve says, ignore it, however frustrating... some people are normal, some are eccentric, some have to be first, and some are, in plain speak, quite simply, tuncs self abusing clunge fodder fresh out of tissues.

Time for 5-yearly driving tests? I know that this has been mooted before, but what about having it voluntary, with the carrot being lower insurance premiums for those that do - if they pass?

Ron.

How, exactly, would that stop people acting like tossers? I'm sure this particular tosser was quite capable of driving.

Had a dozy blonde (not exactly good looking either) in an Audi A3 who decided to race across from the outside lane theough my lane (right hand slip) off the motorway into the left hand of the slip road. She wasn't too impressed when the Omega horn disturbed her telephone call and make-up application  ::)
