Finished rebuilding the dash ect this afternoon so tonight, I've just been for a blast up the M62  :D
In its self, the car is going, eh very well   :-X :D :D

Right, the very weird bit  :-\ :-\
Select cruise in any gear between 2 and 4 and it works perfectly  :y
You can adjust the speed up and down and it totally disengages with a touch of the brake or clutch pedal  :y
BUT select cruise in 5th and it totally fails to engage regardless of vehicle speed or engine speed  :o :o
 No eml or anything.

Car is a 3.2 that has been converted to manual  :y :y

Instant thought .. is the cruise ECU from a manual or an auto ?? as the auto only has 4 gears, perhaps the ecu does not recognise "5th"... but I know knowt about ECU configurations ...perhaps it needs a chat with a tech2  to tell it that it's now a manual ??
-
				Too many pedals? :-X

Eeee he could well be right here.

Doesn't take too long to reprogram to manual :y

That was my first thought Nige but the manual gearbox has no electrical connection other then a switch for the reverse lamp  :-\

The Auto gearbox ECU has been totally disconnected and the car has had a couple of trips to Marks gaff for various updates including the one to tell the main ecu that its a manual  :-\

I'm wondering that due to the clutch switch and wiring back the main ecu only just been completed, the relevant programming didn't take  :-\

-
The cars a DBW throttle so no separate cruise ecu.
Its all done via the main engine ecu

				Too many pedals? :-X

 ::):P :P

But you know that Ronny is right .........  ;)....
-
Unplug the auto ecu if not already done... Top in the auto will be a similar ratio to 4th on the manual... Engine ecu is probably confused ta fook ::)

Gearbox ecu totally unplugged Al  ;)
-
What diff ratio do you have?

We kept the original 3.9 diff off the automatic Kev.

Might need a couple of pins removing from the ecu plugs to balance the one fitted... will do some further digging ;)

Also bear in mind that cruise doesn't normally work above a certain speed... 130 springs to mind :-\

 Do tell me more  :)
-
				Pm incoming :y

-
What if you change straight from 3rd to 5th - miss a gear out & see what happens .....

-
I think you'll find the system really ain't that clever to know what gear its in ;)

-
Well as the speed comes from the ABS the diff ratio will have nothing to do with things.

Which is why the LS1 is electrically easy to install to a working fashion ;)

Just to answer a few of Al's pm questions ............

Yes, the cars ABS/ TC works okay  :y
Yes, the reversing lights work okay  :y

Pretty sure the old gearbox plug is bagged and stowed away and the auto box ecu (above the accerator pedal) is definetly unplugged  :y

The cars due a oil and filter change but it will be next week at the earliest before I get chance so I will physically check the plug then  :y

Cut or remove pin 21, what does that do  :-\

Right, been driving a Peugeot Boxer LWB van since 5:30 this morning.
opps, they are oppsing shite to drive  >:(
Hateful sack of shite that refuses to go in a straight line unless you have your foot on the floor and unstable as opps at all other times  ::)
And then you find out the brakes are as shite as the handling and ride  >:( >:(

God, I have missed my omega today  :'(

Just to add, thank you swear word filter  :-[ :D

Specifically the one next to the battery.

Mid Pin 21 only tells the Mid it's an auto ;)

Remove the fuses in turn and together and report back :y
