I plan to sell my TD Estate which is otherwise excellent conditiion, but am unhappy to do so while the gearbox is playing up , and although I took it out last year for the thrust washer replacement, am unwilling to do it again on my own. I have sourced another AR35 and hope that one of our itinerant mechanics will allow me to make them an offer to help me replace it. Is anyone out there foolish enough to offer?

I removed an R28 manual box single handely yesterday so I'm out..as is my back ;D

I removed and refitted mine last year, and I am of a significant age, yet a local indy garage tells me he won't do it ... too difficult!!! >:(

Daz was going to do mine for me last year .. when we found it didn't need replacing .. might be worth asking him ???

I'm sure he will :y
But don't be surprised if he doesn't reply straight away as he's busy at the moment ;)

It's a pretty easy job but don't try lifting that gearbox, I'd say a transmission jack is vital.
-
£200 at a transmission firm should see it swapped out with the minumum of fuss ;)
If it can wait until next holiday, can thoroughly recommend AutoEurope in Charlwood :y
-
Are you anywhere near to Serek? He did an AR25-to-AR35 swap for me quickly and, as always, perfectly. 8) :y
Ron.

Thanks guys, I'll check transmission shops. Serek I spoke with today, very helpful as always but is rather busy, and may have a box for me. :y
106Pete: I know, I did it solo last year! :-X

Considering it, but don't know how my back would hold up. Could be fine, could be problematic
I did numerous of these alone prior to crash :-\

James... Recognise limits ;)
Drop Daz a PM... He will reply either way :y

Shackeng - might be worth a PM to Sassanach in Trowbridge. Not sure if he still reads PMs or not, but he is a whizz at those AR25/35s.

I thought of him, but he's not been on for 6 months. :(

Including fitting mine, in a lot less time than it took me, and made it look easy, just using two jacks! :y
