Hi,
I have a donor car which has a lovely set of carpets in place. They're much better than the one's in my car especially as I keep spilling what was free coffee from Waitrose on them! ::)
Whats involved in removing the carpets...a major job?
-
Mostly a mater of giving them a good tug, but may need to remove a few bits such as centre console, the plastic covers on tops of sills inside car.
Ive done loads, but not for a few years, and my memory is terrible. :D
-
It reminds me of my new Ford cars in the early to mid 70's. Then we got off cuts of domestic carpet and cut them to shape to fit over the factory fitted rubber offering ::) ::)
Oh what memories of nice, warm, friendly carpet with that special new smell ;D ;D ;D ;)

I would imagine the front seats would have to come out and possibly the rear seat base?Having said that last car carpets I swapped were in a Hillman Imp way back in the '70's :D
-
Front seats shouldn't need to come out.
-
Almost entirely removed mine when I had my front seats out a couple of years back, whilst doing some floorpan work... but having the seats out only highlighted that you don't really need them out, iirc. Once you've 'peeled' them from around the centre console/dash etc I think they just pull forward. Rears are similar, if anything easier, just lift up/out the rear seat base, of course. :)

For the sake of 4 bolts & a few electrical plugs on each seat, I'd have thought removing them would make life much easier for carpet removal.

Exactly :y Also there are four plastic rivets securing the carpet under the front seats. Also the front carpets are technically clipped under the centre console too.

I had a look at the spare car this morning, but forgot all about the carpets. :-[
Albsiemers strikes again. ::)
