Was having a nosey and ended up on 192.com

 6 Credits £14.95 (£2.49 each) + VAT

I know the Library used to be free (not sure if they still are) but does any one know of a cheaper service, and if possible that can search by just Sir name and post code area.

Every council office has one available for their area (and I think adjacent areas) that you can view. You can't take it away though. So contact your council / parish council and take it from there. Many parish council offices now have limited opening hours (due to funding cuts), so call before you travel.

Depends what your trying to find out,

Firstly google the address, then do the same with the individual, check Facebook etc

I just want to work from home at my own pace, catch up with some old school friends, find some lost family , old work mates etc.

Done the google and facebook thing, dont mind paying to use a search, just dont like feeling I have been ripped off. whitepages being half the cost of 192 just wondered if I could find a cheaper service. :-\

The actually printed version is sorted by address, not people. It lists the people (over 18) at the address but isnt searchable.
