Number 4 in the list will be at the top Lord Opti's and STEMO's desirability list. ::) ::) ::)

No. 1 would do me nicely. :y The rest are all mud pluggers, tawt chariots or both combined, which speaks volumes, IMHO. ::)

I think I'd be happy with the Duster. Afterall it'd spend most of it's time sat at the airport car park while I spent the money I'd saved on depreciation on happy travels! :)
-
Number 5 please :D
-
Depreciation is not too much of a worry for me. I buy used. My astra cost me £8,000 at three years old and with 8,000 miles on the clock. Someone else paid for the depreciation.
-
Depreciation is actually very handy if you buy used. :y
-
Wasn't the Lotus Carlton one of the least depreciating production Saloons of all time?
-
I would have thought so, yes. Cant remember how much they cost new, but a decent one will still cost around £20k, which is pretty good for a car more than 25 years old.
Like most of these types of articles, it needs to be taken with a fistful of salt.

Fella at a layby snack bar the other day reckoned my 1999 BMW 530d estate was worth £10,000! :o
I offered to sell it to him. :y He declined. :-\

Yes. and you can add to that a number of recent performance cars (some 911 variants spring to mind) that have either held their value appreciated since their production.

No I gave that up. You? ???

Sooner keep the cars I have & keep the cash saved to pay for holidays . If I had bought the cars that I have new they would have cost me £93,000 ! They cost me £12,750 let someone else take the big hit, complete mugs anybody who wastes that amount of cash on any vehicle.

Good stuff and at your age too! :y I guess taking the whippet out every day takes you to some top spots around your way? :)
-
Guess I would have number 1 too but can't see where you put stuff like cool box, shopping, dog, building materials.

Haven't you got a house for that stuff? :-\

Just shows though that the more you pay initially the greater the pound notes you lose. The amount of depreciation, apart from on the Dacia Duster 1.6 SCe Ambience, would buy you a decent brand new car with money left over.
Still, if you have that kind of money to put down on a super deluxe car, do yu care? Probably not ;D ;D ;D

Colleague in work has asked me to sell her mint 2013 Sandero Stepway for her, I'm really surprised at how little it has depreciated

I found that out while looking for the 993 variant :o

Leasing can sometimes be an option as well. Big bro leases his current S Class, going to cost him £16k over 2 years. Which is less than the depreciation on that car. God knows how he found that deal.
