Well....unusual in the fact that I've never seen one. It was an Audi SQ7, so an SUV to all intents and purposes. Don't know what it had under the bonnet, but the twin double exhausts make a lovely growl.

Just had a look........£71,000 ;D

Could think of better ways to spend that money.
But speaking of unusual, I saw a BMW X6 yesterday, it had what I can only describe as a roof box attached to the tailgate.
A ridiculous car, with a stupid storage system. Been trying to find an image online, but can't.

Imagine this, on the arse of a BMW X6 ;D

So, buy and SUV (already ugly) and bolt on an ugly box to turn it into a saloon. ::)

Probably not actually attached to the tailgate but mounted on a tow bar .. still pretty pointless IMHO

Yes, I think that was the case. I tried to get a photo but failed, it was quite possibly the most stupid setup for a car. Just why!! ;D

Probably because four kids and a wife means the only thing big enough to hold your luggage is a Luton van ;D
[edit] Or maybe they had to take the MIL on holiday and didn't have any seats left...
-
Yes, the time-old problem of SUVs. Fill them with people and it's fine unless you want to take some luggage. ::)
Ended up with one in Canada on a holiday once. Had to leave the rear pair of seats at Calgary because they wouldn't fit in the car along with our luggage. I've often wondered if that car ever got re-united with its' rear seats, because I dropped it off at Vancouver 3 weeks later. ;D

......
My 6 seater R Class is like that. Either 4 people and luggage. Or 6 people and a tooth brush each ..... very little room behind the 3rd row of seats.

hmm wonder if you can get a wheelchair and a MIL in one. Save having to buy an estate car. Cheap for £600
-
Possibly, if you can fold the MIL :D

I'm sure you can, and the sound insulation would be a bonus. :y

Battlebus similar.
Though you can't remove the seats, so I guess they will always be available (rather than in the garage, like most)

If only BMW made a large estate with the same parts that had more space in it.......
