Today I spent a good two hours restoring my headlights. As per a thread a while ago I had tried t-cut on someone's suggestion and I was thinking I was going to have to shell out for new ones. Well I got some vouchers from work and decided to spend them at Halfords for a proper kit.

This is the one I bought...

T'was a last ditch effort prior to being parted with my hard earned for a set of new ones.

Well I'm pleased to say it's worked  :)

Here's a pic of my OS headlight...

Now I will note that they are not perfect. But from the yellow horrid mess they were they are good enough for me. So I also did my fog lights too  :)

So I know some of you have done this. Can u put up some pics of your results so I've got a basis for comparison?

Ps if I ever have to do this again I'll simply buy the 3 stages of paper (800, 1500 and 3000) and finish off with a polish  :y

I hate to say it, but I told you so! 1000, 1200grit wet&dry followed by G3 polish is all I use:

Nice one nick. And yes you were right  :y

I redid mine 3 times expecting each time to get better. It didn't  ;D but it did a good job from the off. I suppose the key is to spend as much time and effort as possible with the 800 (or 1000) to get all the proper crud off.  :-\

I had mine done by a local bloke of facebook for £25 and did a good job

You saw mine Webby, using a (well used!) 3M kit. Sadly, I didn't get photos. But as you know, results similar to korum's above, from cloudy to crystal clear in the time it took for 3 DeWalt batteries to go flat :y

Not sure if its just photo quality, but yours and Nick W's don't look crystal clear to me.

Yeah I remember thinking yours came up sweet.  :y

My headlight situ was/is identical to Korums pics. Yellow as pissy snow. And clear, but not perfect, after  :y
