Title: BMW build database
Post by: Lincs Robert on 18 May 2017, 19:46:42
Does anyone know if there is an online database which you can enter a BMW reg # & it will provide an as built list - i.e. Features & options.

Cheers

Best searching for a VIN decoder, good one for Merc's on Android devices, enter VIN and will decode everything it left factory with.

For my VW I went on their live chat and quoted reg, they gave me full list.

Reg numbers are much more accessible than VINs when looking at purchases ..... Don't mind using a reg to VIN lookup first if needs be.

Ask nicely and I can give you a complete list from a reg or chassis as I have the BMW system on my works laptop

Does that work with a say a Spanish reg? A lot of adverts are vague here about the spec of a car.

I'd think it would work with the VIN

When I was looking at Merc CLS, I found that if I did an extended warrenty quote on Mercs own site, using the reg, it listed the VIN in the quote!

I then used an Android app, to decode the vin and it listed all features factory build.

The warrenty site was a Europe one, Spanish ones might work.

I would have thought you could do similar with BMW  :-\

Try the local BMW dealer?

I was chatting with the guy in the parts department at my local dealer and once he had my reg no, he knew more about my car than I do!  ;D
