Title: Free zip software
Post by: Lincs Robert on 19 May 2017, 10:47:55
What's the best & free software to zip/unzip files?

I'm fed up with these 30 day trials!

Should I just cough up and pay for it?

Cheers

I use 7-zip. Seems fine    :y  Maybe doesn't have some of the fancier functions, but does the job for me

Yup, 7-zip is a reasonably decent product that will do most stuff for free.

It's a bit clunky at times, and seems less stable than the commercial offerings, but once used to its ways... :y

How do I know whether to use the 32 or 64 bit versions, I'm using windows 10 on a 1 year old HP laptop if that helps?  :-[

32bit will normally suffice for all but most strenuous tasks
