If you have all taken a part , would say soak in diesel and then a lot of brake cleaner

Carb cleaner does the job, or a soak in diesel as suggested  :y

Not for me, just rip the intake Hoses and Throttle Body off, give it a good clean, I can do a V6, Penlium off, TB's, front and back Multi Rams, breather pipes etc, within 30 to 40 mins, so a 2.2 shouldn't take more than 20 mins, proper job done rather than spraying and getting crap in your engine.  :y

its a dti . Ive seen a clip on utube where a guy was spraying a molyslip product directly into manifold. I guess only way is off  & a clean.  though last Wednesday I paid a garage for doing this. suspitions and tell tale signs are it wasn't touched

A year ago I inquired how much my Vx dealer would charge to clean my breathers; £200, but that was without TC!! ::) ::) ::) :o :o

Needless to say it is a job I still do myself ;)

Take a look at the pictures MDTM posted up of my (Zafira) DTi intake, that will answer:

1) Why such a product won't work
2) Why you wouldn't want it to work

I remember Mr DTM was most uncourteous about the Battlebus.  He was calling it nasty names.

Indeed, although now fully understanding the fuel system means that getting one running in the future would not present any great challenges.

As for getting rid of said crud, mechanical removal is what is needed for 99% of it.
