Title: 3.2 economy
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 02 August 2008, 13:53:43
I've never owned one, but I might soon!

What is the economy likely to be on a 3.2 manual under following conditions

1) Ragging it locally
2) Careful motorway run
3) Not so careful motorway run!

Cheers in advance :y

3.2 Omega and economy tend not to be found in the same sentence James unless there is a negative or expletive (or both) between the words! ;)

Let me put it this way, I think the Monaro gives similar MPG....

Can't tell you Manual figures but Auto saloon something like

1) Ragging it local roads - 22
2) Careful motorway run - 32
3) Not so careful motorway run - 28

Would add that I have averaged 39 on a 60 mile motorway run at 65mph with no traffic (early hours of the morning) and that despite the low mpg in town driving it generally doesn't need ragging much at any time as all legal speed limits are effortless even high speed overtaking manouvres

HTH

Not sure about the 3.2, .. But my 3.0 MV6 Manual Face Lift Estate, works at this way:

1) 21
2) 33 to 36
3) 29

Also avarage in London (Slow) about 25 to 27 MPG.

Both the power and noise are so addictive that I wouldn't expect you to get the mpgs that are stated above for the early weeks of ownership...  ;D ;D ;D ;D

this might seem stupid, but you're not on US settings as opposed to UK are you? (their gallons are smaller!)
