Title: House sitting
Post by: Entwood on 10 July 2017, 23:07:50
For various reasons we are investigating the idea of using "house sitting" people to look after the house and the hound later this year, just wondering if any OOFers  have any experience, both good or bad, of this procedure ??

We've never done it so are a tad cautious, but it might solve some problems for us IF its as viable as the adverts make out ....

unsure of Wiltshire ....     :)

I house sat for a mate in Houston a couple of times and had charge of a dog, 2 cats, a Range Rover Sport, a Jaguar XKR and a big swimming pool!  8)  It was cheaper for him to pay my flight than put the animals in kennels for 3 weeks!  :y

Hope he left both cars full of motion-lotion, which you gave back empty.  ;D

Can you please ask your mate if he is in need of any more mates ?  ;D

we paid £700 the other year for dog/cat boarding, it would have been cheaper to have a house sitter for 2 weeks.

Two weeks in Blackpool, slumped in a beach deck chair, knotted hankie on bonce, watching the sewage float in and out on the tide, doesn't sound very exotic to me. :o :o :o

But he might not invite you back when he realizes that the cars have been ragged to death for three weeks and he has a post box full of speeding tickets. ::) ::) ::)

I believe Rhyl and Bognor have similar amenities. :)

Theres also Clacton. Different class of sewage altogether there. Plus an infinite supply of hard drugs for when the boredom gets to you.  :y
Hence its nickname, Cracktown on sea.
