Title: Waterproofing PNP switch

Well just after nearly a year with the current gls2000 I need to sort the selector switch again.

When I bought it the selector lights would all light up if you jiggled the selector. So I jacked it up and removed the pnp switch

Opened it up and it was full of a waxy substance, cleaned it out and refitted then all was well till now.

I think its needs cleaning again but I would like to waterproof the tracks or tje whole think

Is dielectic grease waterproof?

They use it in Marine Applications, so guessing it has water repellent properties, ins;t it also a insulator as well though?  :-\ wouldn't conductive grease be better.

I will give dielectic a go, cant use conductive it would link the tracks together and probably have the same consequece as putting wirewool on a 9v battery (best school experiment ever)

I dont think its that conductive, thought it was just enough to stop the Insulation properties of grease between contacts, could be wrong, probably thinking of something else.  :-\

WD40 now do a PTFE lubricant in an aerosol; it is non-conductive and also a very good lubricant - because it is PTFE!  :y

GT85 is a good PTFE aerosol Ron lad. Got mine from Aldi. :y
