I'm wiring in a dash cam to one of the auxiliary socket fuses, bit concerned about using the piggy back fuse as the auxiliary socket is rated at 15amps and the dash cam is 1.5amps.
Any ideas to the correct way of using the piggy back fuse please?

No idea what a piggyback fuse is, but I'd do it properly with solder, and a 2a inline fuse ;)

I've never actually used one, but assume you plug it in, in place of a fuse (the 15 amp), replace the fuse into the bottom of the piggy bank, then supply your dash cam wiring with the 2 amp fuse in the top.

Get a hardwire kit with an inline fuse to the voltage dropper :)
I got his one :-

The black lead has an earth tag crimped on ready
The mini USB output runs up behind the trim of the A piller & plugs into my mobius camera

I bought a similar hard wire kit but cut the fuse off & used my own Merc/Smart specific fuse carrier that clipped onto the side of the SAM (box of electrickery in a Smart). The car stays as standard then, as it would with a piggy back fuse that Barry has suggested.

Convenient and practical way to add accessories. Vx even use them for various extras ;)

Wired mine in using a hardwire lead, into the leckyricky above the mirror (Sunroof, interior light).

Mine is the same, using a 12v to USB converter smaller than a box of matches.

It was obvious when I came to fit it, thanks for all your replies :y
