Title: Georgia (the country ) vehicle
Post by: Varche on 22 October 2017, 11:12:40
Saw a vehicle on Spanish motorway yesterday. Cruising at about 85 mph. It was white and transit sized but obviously a people carrier. Maybe Russian. Not a vehicle I had ever seen before.

What was interesting apart from its GE number plate was the rear indicators were red and the same light and bulb as brake lights. Never seen that before.

Common for American cars. I saw a European Focus there with all red rear lights ie no amber indicators when we last went around 2004

Georgia to Spain is a good road trip!  :y

According to Google maps Tbilisi to Madrid is 5183 kms and it takes 54 hours, taking in 10 countries.  Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France and Spain.  :)

Yes quite common in the States, a bit disconcerting as you are following a car and one brake light starts flashing. :y

I suspect that a country like Georgia (not the US state) has such lax enforcement of what regulations there are, that anything goes with a few Lari/Dollars/Roubles/Euros (delete as appropriate) pointed in the right direction.  ;)

Former Russian country's import vehicles from all over the place, the middle east is a popular area, they also buy a lot of accident damage from UK, and transport back to former soviet union, repair/convert to sell,as lhd, Some newer vehicles are repaired and shipped back to UK, and they are resold, and don't appear on the register..

Also a few soviet bloc trucks are appearing on roads, bringing in anything,, Backloading oil exploration gear for home market,
