They beat Spain this afternoon 5 - 2 to win the Under 17's competition. :) Well done lads, and maybe the future of English football is in good hands! :y

Just a shame that the national 'girls under nine' team would be too much for the senior team. :'(

The strange thing is that most of the excellent players at these age levels don't seem to make it to the top level. Why is that?

Our young player teams have had a very good year as far as tournament wins go, think they have won three and finished runners up in another. So why is our senior squad so underwhelming? :-\ As for moving onwards to the senior ranks, there is an awful long way to go for these youngsters before they reach the dizzy heights of the Premiership and full sguad. Things like attitude, injuries and also the huge influx of overseas players stand in their way. Still, the future looks better than it used to. Well done to them. :y

They will have the flair and creativity trained out of them by the time they reach the senior team, and will then be as useless as the players there now are.
England long ago ceased to be a major footballing nation, so we just need the media to accept that and stop annoying everyone with in every newspaper and news broadcast.
