Title: paging Dr Gollum
Post by: Varche on 04 November 2017, 17:15:55
had a look at two E class merc estates at Affordable Cars , Tadcaster before flying back to paradise. Both about £12k

Blue one (1.8 from memory) and a 220 in Black. You get a lot of car for the money with good levels of equipment.  Definite possible if I can find one over here LHD of course.

Had a search of all suitable autos in Andalucia . Not seen anything that fits the bill. Cannot get any more depressed so all up from here. :y

Ryanair dont take dogs. Plus it is three fares as cannot leave mil. Then hotel rooms and taxis to and from. Assuming we buy it one of us then has to fly/ train it back to vendor and drive car back when the paperwork is done a few weeks later.....

None starter. Back to the drawing board. Three or less hours away is good.

Go by yourself, why does the Mrs need to come?

If you know it's a suitable size, then it could be a solo trip...

Not many estates in Spain without going through 185 ads for post 2010 E Class...

Incidentally that is probably the cheapest 2014 facelift one in Europe... Taxi spec notwithstanding.

Ex taxi? Good or a bad thing?

I have suspected a few three year old cars but with high miles  ( 100k miles)  must have been cabs. “ one owner, no service history”  some did have full service history. Would autos eg 2.0 skoda octavia estate be ex taxi?

In the UK? Almost certainly. In Spain probably...

Taxi licensing is usually pretty stringent, and an unreliable car doesn't earn any money. Chances are the three cars that dealer has for sale are all one or two driver cars.  ;)

Also, cheaper, lower mileage but older version of the same...

In the same area too, if looking at two or more cars in the same town is more effective  :y
