Title: Adblock Plus Message
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 23 November 2017, 21:43:21
Out of the blue I'm getting a popup message from Adblock Plus.  :-\

It says:

Hide targeted messages?

This site has been known to to show targeted messages to Adblock Plus users.  Do you want Adblock Plus to hide targeted messages?

Yes

No

What kind of subliminal messages is TB using to brainwash us with?  :o

Could it be that he's really an ardent Brexiteer?  ???  :)

I'm actually getting pretty pissed off with the constant barrage of messages doing anything whatsoever on the internet.

Update this or that, acknowledge this or that, allow cookies this or that, security message this or that, allow access this or that . . . . . blah blah

I am seriously considering retreating into a hole and staying there. My life would be much more simple

The cookie thing is a legal requirement, to appease the do-gooders.

No ads on OOF. The day we have to implement such a step will be my last day here ;)

It's started on other sites as well so I'll withdraw my accusation TB.  :)

So what to do?

Click on yes or no.

Download something else to stop the pop up.

or

Uninstall Adblock as the pop up is more annoying than the adverts!  ::)

The ones I've hated have been the most pleasurable, back in the days when Sammy was still around :y

So for anyone else suffering from this oppsing annoying popup from Adblock Plus.....

Click on Adblock icon at top right of screen.

Click on options in the little box that opens.

This opens a new tab and in the filter lists tab delete the warning list.

Job done!  :y

Thanks for all your help!  ::)  :P  :)

Could be AdBlock picking up the fact that images are hosted elsewhere like (in the case of this page) photobucket and 'jurko.net', perhaps?

Anyway - another vote for Privacy Badger, here.
