So is mine now the SportMaxx's are under 3.5mm. Definitely been a few clenches today ;D

I can’t fault the omegas handeling in the snow, very predictable and gentle.
Traction however is a problem on hills and as I live on a hill I’m leaving her at home for now!

A boss I had many years ago ran Volvo 240s as company cars and come winter time he'd chuck a load of lead ingots in the boot.Then he changed to Audi 100s[the one they made the fuss about for its cd figure]and come winter time he chucked a load of lead ingots in the boot of that too even though it was fwd ::)

When I briefly had the S-type, I used to go to B&Q whenever snow/ice was forecast, buy 2 x 3 bags of sand for £10, drive them round in the boot for a bit and then return them :y

When I was young my dad had Fords and we used to borrow a length of huge chain and a hook from the FC. That worked a treat in the boot even in the proper snow we used to have then compared to ooh one inch. Mind you I seem to remember they had 3 and half inch rims.

I found the Omega very predictable, making the sort of weather we've had this week as great fun.
Initial thoughts on the XJ is that it too is very predictable, but only got it properly sidewards a couple of times.

Agreed... Both my Omega’s have been highly predictable and enjoyable in the snow.
My work Hi Lux, bearing in mind it's at almost full capacity all the time, was slightly less predictable in 2WD, but still good fun. As you’d expect, once in 4WD it was superb, although the electronic diff locks meant it did some odd things when cornering :o

The Ranger was awesome in poor conditions - though the back end was empty so grip was at a premium. Great for drifti.. uh.. erm, driving sensibly.

Merc doesn't go out in bad weather , Jeep & Subaru are both excellent.
