Title: New Wheeler Dealers
Post by: STEMO on 03 January 2018, 15:52:09
Whilst I was very fond of old Edd, the format had become a bit stale. I really enjoyed the first episode with Ant and what they did to the RS Turbo almost brought a tear to my eye. A very good start, I hope it continues.

I should add, I meant a tear of nostalgia and happiness, not sadness. I won’t mention which original design they added, but it certainly made if better....much better.

Yes, was a refreshing change. I just hope it doesn't meet the same fate that my mate's Cossie engine did when he tried to run it on American piss petrol. :D

I quite liked the lanky streak of piss who wouldn't fit in most of the cars he botched.

Which channel is the new series on please ? Hopefully not one of Uncle Ruperts.
I didn't mind Ed (although istr Kevin Wood found him to be pig ignorant), but Fatty Brewer quickly gets on my nerves.

He reminds me of an over-enthusiastic puppy looking for a leg to shag.

It’s on Discovery, Albs.

So us skinflints will have to wait a year for it to turn up on Quest!  ;D

I didn’t even know Discovery was a sky channel, I thought it might be on freeview. Shows how much notice I take.

Probably about £30,000.......a lot, but probably less than a MK1 Twin cam.

Ant Anstead, not Ant of Ant 'n Dec ;D ;D

Ant Anstead has a reputation of being every bit as much of a "wheeler dealer" as Brewer, if what I've heard about his kit car dalliance are anything to go by.. I'll say no more as I've no desire to be sued for libel if it's not true ;D

I met Edd at Goodwood last year - seemed like a genuinely nice bloke who had no problem spending a little time with people wanting a photograph with him etc.

Never heard of him.  J or k list celeb perhaps, which makes him about as well known as my Aunt Mabel or the girl with big tits who lives in the next street.

He's not a celeb - he's an ex police officer turned mechanic who specialised in classic car restorations and had a line of Aston DB3s replicas IIRC, before he was one half of the "For the love of cars" team (Channel 4).. now he's given all that up for a life of fame with Brewer.

..or maybe he never really had much success with the replicas (priced at over £100k if memory serves) and is making more from being on TV.

Ladies say he's rather easy on the eye, too, which I guess doesn't hurt him..

She is indeed.

I wonder if she is an Omega enthusiast.

I know it's wrong to judge by appearances, but I'm going to take a wild stab-in-the-dark guess that she's a tad "higher maintenance" than that. ;)

Agreed.

She doesn't seem to be the kind of girl who would be happy with a night out that ends at Burger King followed by a bonk on the bins behind Iceland.

I'll wager anyone who has had more to drink than is good for them has ended up having sex on the bins behind Iceland with a girl of dubious character.

It happens.

I'm pretty much certain I've had plenty to drink on far too many occasions, but have never had sex behind Iceland.  Probably because there isn't an Iceland around here.

I did once try to recreate the scene on the bins from Quadrophenia, but sadly the trollop I dragged in wasn't half a nice Ms Ash*, and about twice the size.

Having met her recently in a professional capacity, she is actually a very nice person. What she puts up with getting through the day I would only wish on a select few...

What, like being regularly being beaten up by her then boyfriend ;D

Always had a soft spot for her, based on the fact she was a corker, plus (her characters) seemed to be a bit the-nice-girl-next-door.  Mostly because I wanted to shag her though.

Husband dotes on her from what, admittedly little, I have seen of them  ;)

She clearly had potential though, even in 1979 :-*
