Title: Super blue moon
Post by: Varche on 30 January 2018, 23:24:25

It will probably be raining then, too. The latest trend for naming weather systems will mean the clouds from Dreary drizzle Darren will mask the shiny moon.

One advantage of living in a third worldish country is the skies are clear. Lots of stuff out there to see.

Well, somebody once said to me "you can't take it with you when you go", so i thought "sod you then - I won't go!"

My Mum used to say "theres no pockets in shrouds." and Ive never seen a luggage rack on a hearse, so I reckon you were told the truth Ron.  :D
Apparently the moon should change colour on our neck of the woods at around 7.30pm, and the sky looks pretty clear at the moment, so hopefully we will have a good view.  :y

I won’t be able to see it, I draw the curtains about five o’clock.

I may have been misinformed. The weather girl just said it doesn't change colour at all in the UK.  :-\

It’s the moon, FFS, only a slightly different colour.

It's not the pale moon that excites me, that thrills or delights me.....

Must be a very clear night, that's nigh on sixty miles from your place.  ;D

Assuming you are on working stopover.  :)

Was up at the airfield earlier. The moon was certainly very bright and clear - but not blue. :(

Apparently blue moon means a full moon twice in one month ?

That explains that, then. ;D

Early evening, yep there it is, a tad bigger than normal, just over the horizon.

Later evening. Nope there it isn't as it's pissing down.

Certainly very bright, got my best pictures showing great detail as much as my 18-135mm lens will allow at 400th, F16 at 100ISO. Could really do with at least 300mm lens for a reasonable frame filling photograph, but at least with a DSLR you can get a decent amount of detail. :y :y :y
