One of the lights in the garage wasn't working intermittently, and has been that way for several weeks. Its been on my to-do list for a while, but as I've had the week off, finally got around to looking yesterday.
Swapped the tube over with another light in garage, and the fault stayed with the fitting - an HF type with no starter.
So, off to shitfix this morning, bought new fitting, and fitted that. Exactly the same problem. Bugger.
So out with the meter, and pinpoint it to one of the 2 way switches had failed - hence the intermittencies. Lesson being I should have got the meter out first, and save time, money and effort ;D

It wasn't working intermittently?
Obviously, it depended on which door I entered the garage, something I hadn't picked up on....
