Although we don't know what the encrypted messages are saying, where they are encoded using one time pads, bursts of activity are often a prelude to certain country's new geopolitical, including military, adventures which is one of a variety of reasons why they are monitored by all the main spy agencies including five eyes and also a number of ameuteur groups with websites.

Appart from day to day encrypted chat within the Miltary you wont find much going on over the Airwaves these days, most of the Secret Squirel stuff now goes over an Encrypted Closed Network, Satcom, VOIP, standard Internet Gateway and sometimes hidden in Cellular or Tetra Data Channel slots.  ;)

I don't know why they bother. Just speak Welsh, nobody will have a clue what it's about

Well, your not far off Wales, Cheltenham in fact, but most of the Interesting Radio Wave stuff is at Birdlip Hill up the road.

An interesting article, thanks. Although neither of the linked websites seems to give the frequencies. I was half tempted to fire up the HF set to have a listen.
