Title: Hero
Post by: BazaJT on 28 May 2018, 11:02:21
A young chap has scaled the outside of a block of flats in Paris to the fourth floor[bare handed]to rescue a child hanging from the balcony, simply saying he did it because it was a child.Apparently the childs father had left him alone in the flat to go shopping >:( Wonder what if anything will be done about the father. This good Samaritan has been contacted and thanked for his selfless act by the mayor of Paris. There are some good people out there :y

Saw that this morning ..... he was up to the child like a rat up a drain pipe. As you say, a true hero.  :y :y :y :y :y

It's to be hoped that the father is suitably b*ll*cked.  :(

It looks like he's reaching across the partition between the flats. I think he did well to stop the kid falling for so long.

Yes, strength, agility and confidence that few people possess. :y :y :y Reports save the father was too busy playing Pokemon Go with the patio door open to notice his kid testing his new found freedom. >:( >:( >:(

In France that is no mean feat.  I once stayed with a family whose dad was a fireman.  On a regular basis they had to demonstrate that they could pull themselves up and on to a small platform which was about 2m off the ground and without touching the wall.  When you consider that many french firemen continue in operational roles well in to their 50's you have to say 'chapeau, Monsieur!'

He was given a gong, citizenship & a job in recogontion of selfless act  for the French ppl. :y
The laws in France give great importance to recognising ppl from other nations who aid the French cause.
Just a pity we don`t do same over here. Just a few years ago we learnt that HMG were treating the Gurkha vets to miserly pensions, not to mention the windrush fiasco.
Now I read that the Home Office wants £2.5k from the Afghans, who supported the British Army in Helmand province, otherwise they`re  out :o

The way HMG has treated the Gurkhas has been a disgrace from the get go and should be a matter of national shame, and it seems we're repeating the exercise with the Afghans >:( The windrush affair as you say has been/still is a total fiasco nearly worthy of a Brian Rix farce if it was in the least funny.
