Totally with agree Jimbob.
They need to do what I have done in the past by adding to this to header bar.
"Contains Boobies"
"Contains Bare Boobies"
It only takes a millisecond to add a warning ... and is a sign of respect for other members of OOF who MAY have different opinions on what is "funny" ... all adds up to a "friendly" site
just my opinion.. thats all :y :y :y :y
Love all the semi naked ladies various people post.
BUT please can we all put something along the lines of the content in the title, save any embarrasement clicking on something at an inappropriate moment.
I propose starting all threads with page3 style pictures with NWS (Not Work Safe) then the title of your post, so they can be easily avoided when neccessary :y
Cheers All
ie "NWS - 2 ladies need help"

Have I missed something?
QuoteHave I missed something?
Yes, I gave a guy who got out from a Omega a card about the site along with my mobile no, tech info threads etc thought were good,
did not like some of the material found on general chat
His choice not mine !

:-[ That`s not good: `wonder how many others have visited and have felt similarly 'put-off'? :'(

Hmm -- do we ( I used the term "we" loosley ::) ) get carried away sometimes ?
I guess it's easy to forget when we are having a bit of banter with those we "know", that there are others who do not yet have the measure of the site or some of it's members. I admit there are one or two members who I find a bit offputting, even though I know that's just the way they are .... so a raw newbie might well run and hide!
Maybe we could have a section for those above senior only--- so should be well aware of the characters on the forum. Although I fear this would be devisive .........p'raps we should just behave ourselves :-[

That's a little bit elitist if you ask me. which of course you didin't :)
As adults I would have hoped that if we find something offensive we would just move away from that board. If you see something on the telly that you find offensive do you continue watching it and then complain? or do you change channels or even turn off?
Everybody has their limit to what they will or won't put up with but they do have a choice.
The only real issue I see is that of children having access to the site. Just becasue the forum is about cars and that the majority of it's users are consenting adults doesn't mean that children will not be on here looking. Most of them will probably have found much worse than has ever been put on here.
So rather than have a section only for those aboce a certain status maybe there could be a "adult" themed section that has some form of age verification on it. you can then excersize you choice to opt in or not.
I personally don't think Skruntie has anything to apologise for. I don't find the material he has posted offensive or otherwise none of what I have seen shows anybody doing anything against their will, they all appear to be excersizing their choice to display all.
Censorship has it's place but among adults it should be self governing imho.
By the way did I mention Choice at all ;D
Maybe we could have a section for those above senior onlyNope, never. For exactly the reasons you said.
Pity a script couldnt be witten that once they post in the welcome section it opes them up to allow them access to other sectionsEasy to do, but won't happen. The ethos of OOF is all areas are open to everyone (I know we have for sale limits, sadly).

I can fully understand why people think that, and why it may be daunting to try to join in with an established group....QuoteQuoteI guess it's easy to forget when we are having a bit of banter with those we "know", that there are others who do not yet have the measure of the site or some of it's members. Hmmm --- pity that. They have to accept that people who have been here since the early days will know each other. Best way is just jump in and join in .... worked for me !! Well ....so far ;)
Worked for me, struggled making the 1st post in the welcome section. How did you find out our plan :o
Now there's talk of enticing me up to a meet to bind me and gag me and just leave me in a filed so I cant post anymore. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'll admit that I do sometimes feel like I'm poking my nose into other peoples business when I leave a post on here. I look at my post count (just been promoted :)) and find that I'm thousands behind most of the people on the thread and you find that it's the usual suspects posting on a daily basis. But then that's the idea.QuoteI guess it's easy to forget when we are having a bit of banter with those we "know", that there are others who do not yet have the measure of the site or some of it's members. I have been reading the MX5 forum for about 3 weeks, in their T+C they say don't post anything a child can't read so I know what the limits are. I have just joined their forum as they seem a friendly bunch (but not as friendly as here) and have been made welcome. I have noticed that Tony WIM and Kevin Wood are members, oh and they have a Laidback too.QuoteI can fully understand why people think that, and why it may be daunting to try to join in with an established group....QuoteQuoteI guess it's easy to forget when we are having a bit of banter with those we "know", that there are others who do not yet have the measure of the site or some of it's members. Hiya Brian T, I do understand what you mean about feeling awkward posting when folks seem to know each other so well; I felt very much the same when I came to OOF; but, what a cracking bunch of people the OOF`ers are!....`made me feel REALLY welcome (even if at times I post 'nonsense' stuff).
As an aside: I`ve been a member of a Land Rover forum for a couple of years now and still only have a post count of '15'.....`sorry to say it`s because; they`re just not very friendly/approachable.....I do 'lurk' there becase the technical stuff is excellent and well worth staying current (as it always is with OOF).
I`m actually rather shy and until joining OOF struggled to imagine being able to participate in (what is really) a 'blokey' forum.....but with friendly and welcoming encouragement on OOF it`s very enjoyable.
Please don`t be put off posting.....`dive in! :y
