I bet there are some very worried people at G.M. regarding future sales ,because of the change in road fund duty and the cost of fuel.

I'd say most car manufactures are concerened. They keep advertizing
& producing SUV's so there must still be a market for the bigger engine

I was in the US last week and every single car advert I saw was bragging about MPG figures. Not surprised. Fuel was $3.99 a gallon. If only... ::)
