Halfords are offering free MOT with any purchase at store or online. Purchases must be made between 10th September - 14th October. MOT valid till 31st October 2019. Obviously they will try and get further work out of it but worth a try.

"Free" and Halfords, mmm ::)
-
hardly a free MOT
they will fail it and charge you stupid amounts to fix what they found.
like £30 per headlight that needs adjustment etc
ATL test with shaker plates ,will highlight even the slightest play in anything
(so expect to pay for new shocks, bushes etc)
your "free MOT" will probably cost you £500+

A Free Mot with Halfords, think I would rather piss on a spark plug with the engine running at 6000 rpm ::).

Couple of questions...
1. Is the plug in the engine?
2. Is the HT lead /COP attached?

Couple of questions...
1. Is the plug in the engine? A. Doesn't have to be, but helps to get the Engine up to 6000 rpm.
2. Is the HT lead /COP attached? A. Yes, this is Mandatory.

Hmm just ask them that if the car fails can you take it to your local garage for repairs and then return for a re test ::)

When I need to hold revs on a car I use a sealant type squeeze gun and the handle (or a straight bit of pipe/tube) from one of those £20 jacks (which I don't use anymore). You can wedge the gun handle against the seat and then squeeze the handle which pushes the pipe onto the throttle.

I use a broom handle ,wedged against the seat back and adjust the seat rake to the desired RPM
NOT so i can p155 on my spark plugs though :D

Better off not trying that at home kiddies. You could[allegedly ::)]fill the plug wells and finish up getting mis-fires :D :D ;D
