Title: M62 Scammondon Bridge construction 1969

We've just been looking at some old family photographs, and came across these snaps taken at Scammondon when the big concrete arch bridge was being constructed over the M62 in 1969. Thought I'd share them here, and what's most apparent is the lack of security - not like the Health and Safety of today.

isn't it the biggest single span bridge in Europe/The World?  :-\

Yes the scaffolding contractor made a few bob there!  :)

Photographs like  these not only help preserve precious memories for the family but are an interesting "snapshot" of time.Thanks for sharing. :y
