Ever since I've had the Elite the under dash trim[the bit that has the footwell light in it]has had a habit of dropping down due to there being no clips to hold it at the glovebox end.Up until now I've just kept pushing it back up until it caught on something and held for a short while. Now having a bit of spare time on my hands I had a look at this to finally sort it but for the life of me I can't see where the clips would fasten to under the glovebox. All that seems to be there is a metal[at least I think it's metal]bar/rail running from the centre console area to the passenger end of the dash.Am I missing a part there and if so how does that hold onto the underside of the dash?If I'm not missing a part there where do the clips for the under dash trim hold on?

Three turn button fasteners hold up the near edge...
Bulkhead side slots into a couple of white plastic brackets.
Left and right attached the same way :y

Some "Ham Fist" from a previous ownership appears to of just pulled the hell out of mine and all 3 slots were busted open...heaven knows how as imagine the small plastic turn screws were weaker than the slot they fitted into,
Anyway mine is held up with 3 black cable ties...simply cut and replace when trim needs to be removed and totally invisible.
You might find the same damage has happened to yours

That part of the dash is more brittle than it deserves to be... Not that fitting the retainers should snap anything :-\

That's just it though I cannot for the life of me see or feel any slots under there for the retainers to fit into hence my wondering if there was some kind of trim piece missing ??? Might try and see if Ambas' idea of zip ties will work.

Heavy duty stick-on Velcro.
Handy for all sorts of trim issues....
