What do you reckon these pipes/holes are for, if anything?

That's what I thought.

I know you're there, Dave. You're as stumped as me, aren't you? ;D
-
someone went to the trouble of building them into the wall ...
it's not dry stone , stone is mortared together,so a modern wall .(so i can't think of a historical need for voids)
trellis panels are retro fitted ::)
so , maybe for tea-light candles or other light source :-\
spy hole to see if your car has not been nicked
about 6 foot apart :-\ could you park your car headlamps level to provide lighting for the patio party ;D
OK I don't know ;D

I'm going to have to find out, or it will annoy the fick out of me.
I thought they may be some kind of ferret assault course. ;D

The resident of the house was or is an old sea dog and he missed the portholes, that now he can see when sitting in the garden. :D :D ;)

the wall only looks about 9-12 inches thick ,so i doubt (and can not see) a void sideways of the clay pipe :-\
bit low down and urban for nesting holes :-\
poor attempt at an architectural feature :P
modern arrow slots
covert drug deal serving hatch
yet more poor forward planning by severn trent water
vent for BBQ chimney
Maybe the builder put them in so people would wonder why ;D
-
Severn Trent? Nay, lad, it's proper Yorkshire water up here. Anyhow, I'm gonna block them up with paper towels or the like tomorrow, then see if a local runs up and says, 'Thee can't do that, lad, because...................' :)

Post pub urinal. You and your mate stand there and ask passers by how far it is going.
-
Model of a Dutch dam which you plug with.... ::) ::) ::)
-
I see this from time to time, its for the paper boy to leave the local rag everyday.
-
Glory hole for elephants? :D

I doubt the paperboy theory is correct. I only showed you half of the wall, there are two more on the other side of the gate.

Methinks this is getting a tad over complicated. ;D

Maybe they were getting short of stone, but had a few bits of old clay pipe kicking about. :)

No , it's Yorkshire, all the walls are made of stone
(the builder would just "borrow" stone from another wall nearby ) :y
posh modern technology like clay water pipes on the other hand .........

No sheep, so . . .

No shagging

No shagging
Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but sheep aren't normally required for shagging... ::)
Even in Barry :P

Don’t know about Barry, but up here in the valleys they are not just required, they have no choice😂
