Title: Thieving bar'stewards
Post by: Andy B on 02 April 2019, 17:10:46
One of my daughter's Uni mates got a taxi home last week end. Next morning she realised she no longer had her (Audi TT) car key and was pretty sure she'd left it in the taxi so phoned them to tell them. Naively she answered all  their questions of what make & model etc her car was ..... within the hour it'd gone from outside her house!!!!  >:( >:( >:( >:(

She's since been re-united with her car

The Audi tiTTy does seem a favourite amongst girls and gays.........and hairdressers, most of which are benders. :)

Too right! She used a taxi as well. It would have had to be a very long walk to get me in a taxi when I was a student*. What a waste of beer money!

* - I'm not much more likely to use one now.

Yeah, one of my bro's has one. And likes it :o.  But then he was used to Mercedes company cars for years, is he rightly sees it as a step up.

He says it handles very well, and goes "ok".  He is a trained high performance car driver, for professional reasons, so I do have to respect a lot of what he says.  Even if it is an Audi.  Plus he was right about MB shite ;D, so must know his onions...

The only TT I've ever driven* (admittedly a very early AWD one) showed great reluctance to do anything other than travel in a straight line, especially when under power. When you did convince it to change direction it provided absolutely zero feedback whatsoever. I concluded that it was a "Passat in drag" and haven't thought much about them since.

*- yes, I was clearly letting my feminine side get the better of me :-[

The very early ones were a hoot, but you had to be ready for them, as they had a bit of a desire to go backwards if you had to change something in a corner, including steering angle or power, even at modest levels. That coupled with no feeling of what was going on always kept the sphincter exercised.

Later ones are much tamer, duller, and for girls.

But then I always thought the 3.2 Vectra was a hoot for the same reasons, too dull to drive sensibly, and too shite to drive quickly :D
