Noticed today local BP is 1.329 for the normal stuff, Shell is 1.299, was only around 1.21 a few days back, what going on?
Not that I can complain as still only paying 54p for LPG. Will need to put some proper stuff in soon though.

It has gone up here in Spain too but not as much as your rise.
Is it to do with Sterling exchange rate going down because May failed to carry out Brexit and instead kicked the can down the road till Oct 27th?
-
Just a further thought. It is all kicking off in Libya again. The world doesn't know which side to back even though there is an official and UN represented government

Brent Crude has been creeping up slowly but surely from about $50 a barrel in January to $71.ish at the moment. :(
Trump needs to get fracking! :)

Civil war in Libya with France trying an oil power grab with Libyan Terrorist & RU Putin forces & official UN backed government backed by Italy saving not in our back yard to France. Silly me, I thought the EU was there to prevent wars. ::) ::) ::)
Secondly, the US sanction on Iran has been extensively broken using the Suez canal & the US has now successfully put pressure on Egypt to stop them using it, which has knocked about 1bn barrels a month off global supplies.

Don't forget the impending Bank Holiday weekend ::)

£1.32.9 :o I thought it was bad enough here yesterday when I went for some and found it had gone up to £1.20.9 from the £1.19.8 it was at on Monday!

£121.7 for petrol, £128.7 for diesel at Asda this morning.
-
Yep, 124.9p for a litre of petrol down here at our local supermarkets. Higher at many other garages. :'( :'(
Was 'just' 118.9 a week ago!
Still, remember when we feared petrol 4 star going to 10/- a GALLON? :o :o :D :D ;)

Yes Opti, and 6/8d when I started to fill my own tank in 1970 :y
Then, with the 1973+ energy crisis our nightmares came true:
1974 10/- per gallon or in new money by then 49.60p
1975 15/- " " " " " " " " 75p
1976 15/5d " " " " " " " " 77p
I love showing the old money in such comparisons as it still means more to me now and really shows how inflation, etc, has taken hold of fuel prices. :o :o

In 1974 petrol per gallon was about 2.5 percent of my income it is far less than that now, admittedly I was s poorly paid shopworker back then.

For me Tilbo, by 1974, I had a Company house, a brand new Ford Escort, and only a small amount of 'private mileage' to pay for. So I did all right, and went a lot further in the work I loved. I would not want to be in it now though, and I just enjoy the nice company pension! :D :D ;)

LPG 52p In Wycombe and 61p in Aylesbury :y
Where is LPG in Aylesbury?
-
Lack of LPG in this area and Mrs TB's commute could spell the end of our Omega ownership.
Nearest is a 10 mile trip in completely the opposite direction, and 10 miles back again. Whatever Countrywide call themselves this year will not commit to fixing the pump in Banbury, which hasn't worked since last summer :(
-
Blimey, last time I filled up the soot chucking pussy was up in Hawes. About a month ago. Its still over a 3rd full.
I should use it more :D

Where is LPG in Aylesbury?
FLOgas, Edison Road, just off Rabans Lane :y
You have to register, and the guy comes out and fills it for you. An old school analogue meter, and a very noisy pump!

Cheers. Handy to know when out and about. I guess if its a manned pump, they aren't often open?
Also, being Flogas, if the pump breaks, they need nearly a year to decide whether to fix it.

Do you not venture into North or East London these days?
Theres is a Sainsburys at M25 North, J22 London Colney, 54p, or bottom of M11, Morrrisons and a couple of Shells, 57 to 60p, or bit further down on the A406, Beckton, another Sainburys 55p
One thing I will say about LPG are prices have been stable for quiet a while now, and with Jungle Juice in the High 1.28's cheap as chips.

Mrs TB uses TBE as her daily. The BP here stopped selling LPG properly 3 or 4 years back (and was the reason I ended up with a diesel - although I could get LPG within a 6 mile round trip near work, and commute time, this easily added another 50mins to an hour commute). So her only other viable option was Countrywide at Banbury (a perfectly viable 3 mile round trip extra). Without that, she's having to make the trip to Towcester - 10 miles in the opposite direction to where she commutes - and pay their 70p (when you do find LPG around this strip of the country, its always about 67-75p).
She does have a gas outlet not far from where she works, but they have a single pump, and its always 4 to 5 car queue, and takes probably 40 - 60 mins to get fuel.
You are spoilt around North Londonium, as when I was at HarryPotterLand, about a mile down the A41 was a Sainsburys and Shell around the 54p mark (when the Towcester one way 70p (as it has been for years), and the Shell on the A41 near Hemel was 82p). I saw a Shell at 54.9p on the North Circ near Wembley the other day when going to one of our shitholes down that way.
Its a real dilemma, as TBE is a lot of effortless luxury for virtually no outlay. But she is doing 400 miles a week, and a 3.2 Omega on petrol, its becoming a bit expensive.

Stick a manual box in TBE... It will take her much nearer a single tank a week than two... :y

Is an estate fuel tank bigger than a saloon one? Because 400 miles isn't difficult to acheive in a 3.0l auto estate.......

buy yourself some 47KG cylinders TB and a transfer pump*
what's the worst that could happen ;)

70 litres iirc vs 65... DBW cars are a bit heavier on fuel, but I regularly saw 360-420 out of my plod estate... Worst was about 280, and best was 480.

Yes, we have some pretty good apps on the phone. We're in that huge void of where there is minimal LPG without significant detours :(

She already knows how awful the Omega manual box is. You don't have an exec saloon and put a manual in it. Especially not a manual box designed by a Victorian railway maker.

The 3.2 isn't as economical as the 3.0 by some margin. And the M40 isn't the most economic motorway, being a fairly quick one as the do-gooders have yet to succeed...

And that completely highlights the situation. And that's before you remove the BPs that no longer sell the stuff (because that particular site is utter shite).
We live in Brackley, and the nearest is Towcester - 20 mile round trip in exactly the opposite direction. And its not like its that cheap either (69.9p as of last week).

My LPG'ed 3.2 Manual, which is also Remapped will do 26 MPG on LPG in normal running around mode, that equivalent to doing 59 MPG on Petrol if you do a £ for £ comparison.
Still too much these days for though, so the 1.2 LPG Corsa, which returns me around 37 to 40 MPG on Gas plodding around in and out of London takes the embarrassing note out of it, £ for £ thats about 90 MPG on Petrol costs, so they can stick their proposed Electric Cars right up their .....

Totally agree with that, having driven just about every Omega flavor under the Sun, including the not so economical 2.5TD Manual, if I was to do all over again, which I wont, it would be an early low mileage 3.0 MV6 or Plod Manual, Remapped / Chipped with a decent LPG System attached for economy, plus more grunt up at the top end over a 3.2

Could this be why petrol prices have gone up.
