Title: Which side is bank 2
Post by: mantamania on 22 June 2019, 14:13:48: Hi all, I need to replace lamda sensor No2 bank 2. Is bank 2 on the passenger side of the car?

Post by: Enceladus on 22 June 2019, 14:32:32: Bank 2 refers to the even numbered cylinders. So the nearside bank. AKA the passenger side on a UK Vauxhall Omega. Sensor 2 is the sensor furthest downstream of the two for that bank.

I tried to solder them back together but for some reason the solder would not stick despite using flux. I ended up using bullet connectors and heat-shrink. Does anyone know where to buy a new connector or new pins for the connector.

Post by: Enceladus on 25 June 2019, 10:12:18: Why a new connector, is yours damaged? If not then I would simply splice it onto the sensor cable using some waterproof inline connectors. Kojaycat (https://kojaycat.co.uk/)might have something suitable. But that's similar to what you have already done, unless I misunderstand.

If you were to buy a Bosch Universal Sensor suitable for an Omega then they just give you a sensor with an un-terminated cable and some inline splices. You cut the plug off the old sensor and splice it to the new.

The plug is likely from one of the Delphi automotive ranges. Is it this perhaps, (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delphi-Lambda-Oxygen-Sensor-Cable-Wiring-Harness-Repair-Kit-6407-614-/163003905567) which looks to be pre-assembled for splicing? The trouble with assembling your own is that you definitely need the correct crimp tool or it won't last. So it might even be cheaper to buy a new sensor.
