Title: Poor diet
Post by: STEMO on 03 September 2019, 14:31:35
My lad has just been down for his 'breakfast', toast, crisps and a can of diet coke. He doesn't go back to uni for another three weeks and, while he's been off, I've been watching what he eats (apart from the evening meal that I cook). Basically, it's shite, so I sent him this link:

Yes a terrible story if all true!! :o :o :o

But taking it all 'as read' where were his parents, did they act like caring adults, or take the easy route with a stropulous teenager, and we know what that is like, and just give up "telling him"?

Very, very sad though! :o :o :'( :'(

Why wouldn't it be true?

The BBC also carried the story.

I bet he isn't the only one out there either.

Oh and I too blame the parents.  The dessert spoon on the knuckles was a good way to get greens eaten up.

Because here on the OOF we have been taught to be very sceptical until we know the full facts ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

But you are right Varche, it does appear that it is "as read", and yes there MUST be many more :'( :'( :'(

We have our tea together. It just means I have to cook separate meals, cause he won't eat the same as us.

Aspergers, Dave, he won't eat what he won't eat. I'm immensely proud of him making it to uni, I never thought he'd be capable of doing it on his own.

My old dad use to sniff the air, pull a face and say "A farmer'd keep you for your shite, lad".

Or....."Smells like a rat's crawled up your hole and died".  ;D

Apparently she is blind and STMO fooled her with a George Clooney recording, as I doubt a thick scouse accent was going to get her between the sheets. :)

You've every right to be proud of him Steve. Sounds like the boy has done great and put a lot of your worries to rest.
Had similar with my son around the same time as you did. He had a different set of problems, but I was also concerned about him coping. He took to it like a duck to water, flourished socially, and grew in confidence like I could only have dreamed of.
He ended up getting a 2.1 hons, and just a gnats shy of a first.
Problem is, he has met a miserable manipulative woman, moved in with her, and is planning to marry her and have babies in a years time. You overcome one problem and then...…...
