Title: Bose
Post by: Auto Addict on 11 October 2019, 09:36:55
I purchased a Bose portable Bluetooth speaker a week ago from their online store - special offer £60 off.

It arrived within 5 days, set it up (software updates etc.) didn't work.

Rang Bose local service number and ended up speaking to a young lady in America who was very helpful, sent me an email with a printable returns label.

The address on the returns label was in Belgium!

It's taken 3 days to get there, but Bose Belgium have confirmed receipt, thank goodness.

Haven't Bose got any service centres in the UK?

Lucky it is Belgium, just think if Bose had a UK service centre in Brackley| Your speaker would have entered the parcel courier, twilight zone, the UK parcel courier Bermuda triangle to never been seen or heard of again. Ask TB. ::) :o :-X

Since Bose are American, presumably after the 31st you'll have to return things to the US since borders to Europe will be closed and planes will only be able to fly West.

Chuck it in the bin, most overpriced overrated crap there is.

The only half decent stuff they do is stage kit.

I have a Bose Soundlink Micro and I think it sounds quite good for a portable speaker. Although I am almost deaf so my judgement may be misguided.  ;D
It acts as a speaker phone as well so deaf bastids like me can hear the caller quite well. Not ideal on the tube I'll grant you.  ;D
Seriously though, it fits in your pocket so can be taken anywhere, and is a nice little speaker.  :y

I have to concur, my £30 BT of unremarkable brand that escapes me speaker performs better than my mate's £150 Bose one.  And doesn't get shitty with pairing.

When we are on late shift (no management about) we play tunes through a little JBL speaker. Considering the size of the office area it performs very well. It's not Bluetooth though and requires you to use the jack plug.
The Bose Micro is around £90. I've had no issues pairing it and I cart it everywhere with me.  :y  I agree they are over priced, I have the Bose Home Speaker 500 as well. A lot of money considering you don't even get a remote.
