Hi chaps...
Coil packs on my 2.6, 2003 vintage, are cracked in places, and also rear ones are rusty. Obviously ingress of water into bores. Now cleaned out, and scuttle and wiper spindle sealed ( I hope).
Need new coil packs. are both banks the same, and is there a variation of the connector. Visual ads seem to show oval type.
Thanks

They are sided.
Plugs technically the same, but one is grey and one is black :y
-
Not saying I am buying these but ECP have one at £32, and one that says Right side...for £103 !!!! are they that different. Make was HAAS. As I said not purchasing, just trying to locate. I bet VX cost the earth. (:
-
Take the Bosch number printed on each one and search using them... Typically £65-80 a side :y
Or buy Tunnies's

Did think of Tunnie's, but I assume he will sell the engine complete. :)

Less than £80 for the pair new...

Doubt it, as he suspects head gasket failure, therefore the engine would be worth more weighed in with the rest of the car than trying to sell it. Having said that he is now gauging interest in selling the whole car before dismantling it.
Don't blame him either. Dismantling an Omega and then packaging and sending off parts is a lot of hard work, and doesn't tend to bring great rewards these days.

Agreed, plus it's generally in really great shape body wise and everything else.
I've confirmed water/coolant is getting above the valves, plenum and inlet was removed. Nice green UV dye I put in was all above around valves. :(

I was able to briefly fit an old spare 135 coil pack on the 246 side even though it was 'wrong-handed'
Lasted about a week before it started to crack.

Did you ensure the windscreen seal was on fully - this is far more likely to leak than scuttle/wipers.

Yes TB...made sure it was up as far as it would go :)
