Slight snag reported in Spanish press today re Lewis / Mercedes negotiations.
Seems like all the star drivers have signed with the big teams apart from Mercedes. So Lewis has asked for circa 13 million more for a four year contract thus costing 55 million euros ( a form of currency equal to about 48 million squids). Lets hope they pay up rather than taking a cheap newcomer of which there are plenty in the wings...... Do they need a star driver? Methinks yes :y
Footnote. Once Kimi goes, Lewis will be the oldest driver. So a four year contract may just see him out and Eight titles to his name. Leclerc Charles will win one of the four.

I would imagine he is in the position of knowing he can name his price. Don't blame him.
He also knows that Ferrari will pay up his demands and dump Vettel in a heartbeat, which gives him leverage on Mercedes.
Personally, I think he will stay at Mercedes as long as Woolff stays too.
Although, I could see him maybe doing a year at Ferrari just before he retires, just to tick that box.
Leclerc may win one, so may Verstappen, but they will need the best car, good luck, and more maturity than they have shown so far imo.

Traditionally Ferrari pay the biggest bucks to drivers (even "old" ones), so one must assume that they have offered Lewis something that he is expecting Merc to match. Also it's interesting to not that Lewis will be the oldest driver, when he apparently represents the Yoof market with his music industry friends and fashion interests. He must be responsible for lowering the average age of Merc buyers considerably over the past few years. Although the young motor racing fan these days is supposed to be more interested in Formula E, as fossil burning cars are for..well fossils init?
Fascinating times that we live in.
