Title: Insignia 1.8 petrol
Post by: mick-1975 on 28 January 2020, 15:50:38
Good afternoon. I am looking for advice for a friend of mine who has a insignia and his brake lights are playing up.They are on constant when parked up and turned off (keh in pocket). They dont always come on when driving but then stay on. Pedal depressed half way lights go out then back on .once pedal is down the lights are on then once you release pedal half way lights go out. Once fully depressed everything is ok for a few seconds then brake lights come on even when j not touched the pedal.
He has changed the switch and still the same.
Even when you disconnect the switch near pedal the brake lights work intermittently but the lights dont stay on when parked up.
Sorry for the long message but tried to give much info as possible. Am I right that the switch can not be adjusted
Many thanks mick

Check behind the sides of the boot for water.

The rear fuse box lives there, forget which side, and they don't like getting wet. Which is unfortunate as the Insignia has been known to leak around the tailgate...

Thanks we have checked that. We even took the fuse box out and had a look electric handbrake works fine. We have checked fuse 27 for handbrake and that's fine .
Dknt know what else to look for.
We even tookmlight clusters out one by one and checked still the same

Tech2 cant read the Insignificant officially.

Unless it happens to use the same REC and BCM (I think the pedal switches were on BCM on Vec?  Been a while since I looked!)  as a Vec-C
