Title: Grand Infrastructure Projects
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 12 February 2020, 22:38:45
It's catching!  :o

Following HS2 and Boris's GB/NI bridge here's a grand project in today's Guardian.  :y

I had to check the date as I thought I'd lost 6 or 7 weeks, but then realised that as it's all about climate change, it will be taken very seriously by the commentariat!  ::)  :)

Why not?

Regardless of whether you area a climate change believer or sceptic, man cannot just allow land and houses to be lost. The biggest objectors to this would be the Russians not being abletoget their subs in and out of the Baltic! Mind you as the Arctic is more and more navigable as the ice goes, Murmansk would do.

Go big rather than just throw a few rocks on the beach and hope.

They could pump it out and use the North Sea Mud for land fill!  :y

Wasn't there a movie about a city that was the only left on Earth, after massive floods had wiped out all others, which survived by having a giant concrete wall all round it?

If I remember correctly, that city was eventually wiped out as well due to human stupidity - someone made a hole in it, or did concrete disease set in?! ::) ::) ;) ;)
