Title: Blown a gasket!
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 27 August 2008, 23:19:14
I had to get from Cardiff Central, to Cheltenham Spa this evening prompto.

I made the trip in very good time  ::) but after 70 miles of being ragged into the ground driven enthusiastically, there was a big smell of oil outside the miggy.

Lifted the bonnet and could see smoke - can also see it burning off both Cats...  :-?

That'll teach me , and give me something to look at on my day off...  :-X

Definately a gasket :question :question :question

Could be just a blocked breather having a dump?

Hell knows. no loss on the stick, still stinks and burning, though.

Nothing but problems at the moment possibly - but that's the joy of a high miler no history car.

I've only had it a few weeks - give me the same time again and it will be like a new pin  :y

It certainly has a very tidy body and interior. Mechanical gremlins are easily fixed. It's less easy to sort the cosmetics. It will indeed be a very nice car once the usual issues have been put to bed.
