Title: Labour leader
Post by: STEMO on 04 April 2020, 10:52:13
It's...........Keir Starmer. Like we didn't know that already.

Angela Rayner is the deputy.  If Starmer tries to take Labour towards the centre ground expect fireworks from her!  :)

Yes, but she must realise that tearing the party down the middle will result in...well....exactly what it's already resulted in. I don't want a labour government any time in the foreseeable future, but neither do I want the Tories to think they can do exactly what they like because there's no credible opposition.

OK....so I thought the deputy would be Lisa Nandy.

The outcome is the same though. Keir does the brain work while while little Angie serves tea and biscuits in a low-cut top. :)

The only people who can give Boris a challenge are his back benchers.

How utterly ridiculous. She is a woman.

I'm willing to put up with a girlie being given The worthless 'Prescott position' but not leader. :)

Two women against a man, no contest really. You won't tell Lizzie I said that, will you?  :)

His old man is a bit of a loose canon/cannon. He always seems to be just on the edge of insanity.

I can imagine him telling everyone that Boris wet the bed until he was 35.

Handsome woman & likes to put her locks up in a pony tail  ::)
If starmer just pulls that pony tail & whispers in her ear occasionally,  she`ll soon come to heel.

Starmer is a Trotskyite in a suit and a barrister. So a third rate Tony Blair. The Tories would have to get themselves into a hell of a mess before he could win an election.
Stranger things have happened though.

I take it his knighthood is ironic then...  ???

Exactly. Edits a Trotskyite magazine but grabs a Knighthood with both hands when its dangled on front of him.
Spent over three years trying every shenanigan in the book to overturn the Brexit vote, now only says its in the past and we all need to look forward, but today hinting pretty strongly that the Brexit deadline should be extended. No doubt hoping that Covid might just save us from leaving the EU.
Ive yet to meet a socialist who isn't a hypocrite.

Ah yes.....but that was 30 years ago.

Also, socialism is essential when  the country needs to bail out capitalism and private business such as the banks.......and pay people 80% of their wages due to this little bug that is going around. :y

It may or may not be essential that is debatable and we will only know if it was the best course of action with the benefit of hindsight. What is unquestionable is that if it carries on for any length of time the country will be utterly bankrupt and will take generations to recover, if it ever does. This is why Socialism doesn't work in the everyday real world and never can.
