Title: Can't tax my car

Got an astra g estate last month to use whilst my omegas are off the road and I'm struggling to get it taxed.
It's insured and mot'd but the V5 is stuck in the dvla system. The problem is all the automated services be it online or via phone all require you to have the v5 or the new owner Green slip. The green slip isn't any help because it is now registered in my name but at the wrong address (mistake by the previous owner) which is why I sent it back to dvla.
The only other option I can see is apply for tax and another v5 at the post office using a v62 but they want to charge me £25 for the privilege.   >:( no way Jose.

you should be able to use the green slip to tax online if its current,address shouldn't affect that

edit  or was it still attached to the main V5 that you returned ?

This is the issue I have... Online check shows as taxed, but still waiting on V5 even though Sorn form/new keeper slip/v62 all sent in three weeks ago... ::)

Sent the lot back as it said on the form. Tried using the green slip from the previous owners v5 but it's serial no. isn't valid anymore.

Take green slip to post office with, not and insurance, they will tax it There.

I wouldn't have thought plod would be that bothered, if its showing as taxed then ANPR won't ping it so I'd just use it
